50s-60s French Mercs

 

A good buddy in Wilcox, Arizona asked me a question about using French Indo-China veterans as merc's in his 70's campaign.
Please note; if the NPC/PC is skilled with a Bren or FM.24/29 and fires a more modern LMG, use his original base effectiveness. see- Page 11 "Revised Recon", Page 17 "Deluxe"

Basic Training
MAS 36 Rifle, Mat-49 SMG, FM.24/29 LMG, Grenade Throwing, Climbing, First aid, unarmed combat, bayonet, Area Knowledge (Vietnam) and Camouflage.

Secondary MOS:
Foreign Legion, Paras (ex. 1er BEP Foreign Legion Para battalion) Basic Airborne, MAS CR 39 or M1 Carbine
Demolations as listed
Medic as listed

Just to expend on the Dustoff weapons list (early is approx. 46-48, mid is 49-50, late is 51-54, weapons sorted in very rough order of availability) :

Carbines :

Carbines were usually more issued to para and "light" infantry units.
LMG :
early Bren and FM.24/29, BAR (few) ;
mid mainly FM.24/29 with Bren and BAR mainly in "static" units, some Mle 1931 Reibel vehicle/fortress LMGs used as infantry LMGs ;
late FM.24/29 nearly universal in "mobile" units, rest as mid but Reibels restricted to vehicles, bunkers, trains and armed landing craft.

early Bazooka and PIAT ;
mid 57mm RCL and Bazooka ;
late 57mm RCL and 75mm RCL.
